Elder scrolls capture-the-flag mechanic

>mystical ancient scrolls that predict major future events
>series is named after them
>just laying around in keeps being win traded every hour by factions

They have never been spoken of as being used tactically like a weapon, and everything about them defies the idea that they can be wielded like some sort of general's toy. It's a stupid mechanic and should not exist. It shits all over what Elder Scrolls are all about.

  1. Well, I mean, there are Elder Scrolls being kept at the Imperial Library throughout the ages. I don't think it's out of the question that at this time there would be different keeps that had some of the scrolls. Hell that probably explains how a lot of them ended up in the Imperial Library in the first place.

Of course I'm not lore buff so I don't really have much authority here but yeah.

    1. Yeah you are right. The problem I have is that the decent writers in the past described the Elder Scrolls as mysterious objects which shift about in space and can never really be controlled, they had a metaphysical element to them which made them feel intellectually above 99% of people in Tamriel - not that it would stop various people from trying.

It is feasible that they could be stored at different locations while keeping that element. I don't think that is how it will work out in practice. Look at how they are called "objects of immense power" which "provide bonuses".

They are going be things you click on which provide random buffs, arbitary buffs for whatever shitty WoW battleground they are copying. It ruins the nature of the scrolls.
